We had a pleasant surprise at Fairwood Park yesterday when two of Wales' top rugby stars dropped in for a round at the course.

Welsh captain Ryan Jones was joined by fellow Wales and Ospreys second-row, Ian Gough, enjoying some respite from the rigours of a long season that started last September and only ended in June following the Welsh Tour to New Zealand.
After coming off the 18th, the lads were kind enough to stop for a photo by the practice putting green and both sang the praises of the golf course.
"That was fantastic! I didn't realise the course would be that long, so it was a pleasant surprise to find so many holes that reward the big hitter." commented Ryan. "Even on a few of the Par 3 holes you needed a long iron to get on."
Ian commented, "I often drive along the Gower Road and because it's all open Common Land you would never have guessed there was a parkland golf course hidden away here. I absolutely loved it and because we don't have to start training for another few weeks you'll be seeing a lot more of us before then!"
